New Website, Old Principles

Website Design in London So here it is, the shiny new website home for Visualeze, built, like much else these days, on a WordPress base for greater flexibility and expandability.

It is remarkable how much has changed in this industry since the last incarnation was launched a mere three years ago. The explosion of social media in all shapes and forms, combined with the virtually wholesale abandonment of building purely static HTML sites in Dreamweaver, GoLive and the like, certainly these are the two factors which have altered my work patterns and core business more than any other.

If nothing else, that has meant a total content re-write [well, almost] for the new website, and if you knew how much I hate writing…

What’s New in the New Website

  1. The use of PHP database driven, dynamic websites instead of traditionally built HTML sites. Previously, unless you needed significant e-commerce, CMS or blogging facilities, then there was no reason to create PHP driven websites. The tools available were often rudimentary, earlier versions of PHP weren’t evolved enough and suffered somewhat from security flaws and, it was generally much quicker and easier to create HTML websites that simply acted as company ‘brochures’. The new website reflects that change, the emphasis is now on using WordPress and other tools to create dynamic, interactive websites with far greater ease than before.
  2. Social Media… it’s everywhere and will keep growing. On the last incarnation of this website ‘social media’ didn’t even warrant a mention. After all, even though Facebook, YouTube and other social media sites existed, very few people could imagine their growth into the vital online business marketing tools that they represent today. Thus a new section on this site to cover the subject in the broadest manner, what is obvious is that the social media field is one that will continue to be in flux for some time so I will be setting aside a separate blog category to keep clients informed of the latest trends and solutions as they appear and develop.

Anyway, that’s enough to be getting on with, hope you find the new website both attractive and useful and I look forward to greeting and working with new clients with the same mutual satisfaction as my current ‘crew’.
